Sam Young was introduced to Malcolm Saville’s stories as a child and enjoyed the action, suspense and humour of these books.  His passion for these children’s books continues to this day.

He has written the first of his new Lone Pine stories in a similar spirit to the original Lone Pine books but with an older readership in mind.  Sam has effectively written for himself the type of story that he would have loved Malcolm Saville to write for him as an adult.
