books > Malcolm Saville Born in Sussex, Malcolm Saville, worked for George Newnes publishers for many years. During World War II his children were evacuated to Shropshire. This inspired his first children's story, 'Mystery at Witchend', about a group of children having adventures around the Long Mynd. Sussex and Shropshire continued to be the locations for many of his stories. He is best remembered for the twenty Lone Pine adventure stories but he wrote about 90 books altogether. |
